PDF Settings

When you export an Analytics Report to a PDF file, any charts that were added to the Output view will be included in the exported report, as well as any images added to the report. You have several options for managing the display of the report in the PDF file.

Export icon

From the Output view of the report, click on the icon to display the Export Report window.

Export to PDF option

Click to display the export settings for the PDF version of the report.

Page Size list

Select the size of the paper you want to use to view/print your report. In addition to Letter and Legal, the other options include A0, A1, A2, A3, A4. A5, B4, and B5.

Orientation radio buttons

If you want to change the default page orientation for the report from Portrait (vertical), select the Landscape (horizontal) radio button.

Use Default Layout Values option

  • If you want to use the default layout values for the PDF version of the report, leave the option enabled, as indicated by the icon, and proceed to Step 17.
  • If you want to change some or all of the default layout values for the report, turn off the default option by clicking on the active icon, which now displays as a disabled icon.

Shrink to Fit Page Width option

If you want to resize the report data (and any charts) so that all the data for a page fits on that page, ensure the toggle icon is enabled.

Page Break for Report Sections option

If your report contains one or more sections or groupings, and you want the program to add a page break between the end of one section and the beginning of another section, ensure the toggle icon is enabled.

Page Break for Co-Display Reports option

If you are running a co-display (child) report within the Master (parent) report, and you want the co-display report to be presented on a separate page, ensure the toggle icon is enabled.

Secure PDF option

If you want to secure the PDF report by password protecting it, ensure the toggle icon is enabled. When the icon is enabled, a PDF Password field displays.

PDF Password field

Enter the password that must be provided in order for the reader to view the PDF report.

Define Maximum Image Sizes option

If you want to control the height and width of charts and other images in the report, ensure the toggle icon is enabled. When the icon is enabled, a Maximum Image Width field and a Maximum Image Height field display.

Maximum Image Width field

Enter the maximum width of any charts in the report in pixels.

Maximum Image Height field

Enter the maximum height of any charts in the report in pixels.

Define Header/Footer Sizes

If you want to define the size of the headers and footers in the report, ensure the toggle icon is enabled. When the icon is enabled the Header Size field and Footer Size field display.

Header Size field

Enter the amount of space, in pixels, that should be reserved for the header at the top of the report.

Footer Size field

Enter the amount of space, in pixels, that should be reserved for the footer at the bottom of the report.

Export button

Click to launch the report in your PDF Reader or Adobe Acrobat program.
