Section Formatting icon

From the Data view, click on the image311.png icon to display the Section Formatting window.

  You can also click on the Settings link in the Sections panel, or you can mouse over the field in the Sections panel until the image312.png icon displays, and then click on the icon.

Report Fields list box

Locate the section field that you want to format, click on it to select it, and then drag-and-drop it into the canvas. The categories and fields that can be used to format the section display in the canvas, and the Display category is expanded.

Display field

If you want to change the text that will display for the section heading, edit the text.

  If the section does not need a descriptor, see #6. Example: If company name is a section, you may not want the text "Company Name" to precede the name of the company in the report.

Format list

If you want to change the display of the heading from plain text, make another selection in the list. The options include replacing the text with a flag and using part of the text as a link to a URL.

Section Style list

If you want to change the way in which report sections are displayed in the Output view, change the default view from Single Page, where the entire report is displayed on a scrollable web page.

  • Multiple Page – each section is displayed on a single page and you must click on arrow icons to display individual sections of the report.
  • Tabbed – each section is displayed on a single page and you must click on a tab to display the individual sections in the report.

Show Labels option

If you do not want the field name to be included in the section heading, click on the icon to turn off the option. Example: If the Company Name field is used as a section heading, you can turn off the label Company Name so that it does not appear in the report. "Company Name: Verity" would then display as simply "Verity" in the report.

Close & Apply icon

Click on the image186.png icon to close the window and apply the formatting to the display of the section.
