Reopening Completed and Past Due Tasks

A task that has been completed can easily be reopened if it was closed in error, or if the task needs to be repeated. Novatus also allows you to change a "Past Due" task to a "Scheduled" task by simply editing its due date.

Reopening a Completed Task

A completed task is re-opened from the Tasks browse screen in a Contract Profile, Company Profile, and Project Profile.

Although the Contract Profile is used in the example below, the same steps also apply to reopening a completed task in a Company Profile and Project Profile.

A

Tasks link

Click to display the Tasks browse screen.

B

Show Completed button

Click to change the view in the browse screen from open tasks to open and completed tasks.

C

Completed Task records

Locate the completed task that you want to reopen.

Note: Completed tasks are displayed in strikethrough text and contain Closure Notes.

D

Reopen icon

Click on the completed task's icon to reopen it.  Novatus moves the task from the Show Completed to the Hide Completed view of the Tasks screen.

Note: The icon only displays if you are the task "owner" (person responsible for completing the task), or the person who created the task.

E

Hide Completed button

Click to return to the default view, which display only open tasks.

F

Reopened Task record

Verify that the task has been reopened, and is now displayed in the Open Tasks view of the Tasks browse screen.

Reopening a Past Due Task

A past due task is re-opened from the Tasks browse screen in a Contract Profile, Company Profile, and Project Profile.

Although the Contract Profile is used in the example below, the same steps also apply to reopening a past due task in a Company Profile and Project Profile.

A

Tasks link

Click to display the Tasks browse screen.

B

Past Due Task record

Locate the past due task that you want to reopen. Past due tasks are displayed in red text.

C

Due date field

Click in the field and enter a due date that is later than today's date. You can also click on the icon and use the calendar to quickly select the due date.

D

Scheduled Task record

Verify that the task is no longer "past due." A scheduled task is displayed in black text.
