In the Novatus system, event alerts (email notifications for an open event) can be sent on a recurring basis, or a single alert can be sent for a key contract or company date.
In the example below, the contract expires on December 31 and the system sent out an event alert on November 1, which is 60 days prior to the expiration date.
Event with Notice
In the example below, the contract expires on September 1 and requires that a 30-day written notice be given prior to the expiration date. Therefore, an event alert is sent on June 1, providing a 60-day notice that the contract is going to expire, and a second event alert is sent on August 1, advising that a 30-day written notice is needed to either renew or terminate the contract.
Event Alerts are assigned a status based on their relationship to key contract dates and can be reported on:
- Scheduled - Event Alert Date (Event Date – Number of Warn Days) has not yet reached the notification date; therefore the event alert (email message) for the event has not yet been sent out.
- Due - Event Alert Date has reached the notification date, and therefore, the event alert (email message) for the event has been sent out. However, the Event Date has not yet been reached.
- Escalated - Both the Event Alert Date and the Reminder Date (Event Date – Number of Reminder Days) have passed, but the Event Date has not been reached.
- Past Due - Event Date has passed without any action having been taken on the Event Alert.
- Closed - Event has been completed (individual event) or closed (event series) by the Event Owner, and it is no longer active.
