Moving a Document

You can move a document from one Contract Profile to another, and from one Company Profile to another using the Move Document Wizard. You can also move a document from a Contract to a Company Profile, which saves you the dual tasks of deleting a document from one profile, and uploading it to another profile.  Although the Move Document Wizard is available in a Project Profile, the wizard's only function for a project is to move documents among the Contract and Company Profiles that are housed in the project.

A document is moved from the Documents browse screen in a Contract Profile, Company Profile, or Project Profile.

Although the Contract Profile is used in the example below, the same steps also apply to moving a document in a Company Profile and Project Profile.

Documents link

Click to display the Documents browse screen.

Document records

Locate the MS Word document you want to move, and click on the document record to open its Document Profile.

Search option

To quickly locate a document, type the first few letters of the document name or other identifier in the Search field, and click the icon. To clear the filter, click on the icon.

Note: If you only know part of the document name or other identifier, use a leading and/or trailing wild card (denoted by an asterisk "*"). For example, if you wanted to search for a document that contains the word "Certificate," you could enter *cert* in the Search field.

Important: Use the Search filter to limit the fields that are searched by clicking on the button to display a list of searchable fields. Select only the check box(es) for the field(s) you want to search to guarantee accurate results.

Advanced menu and Move Document button

Click on the Advanced button in the Action Bar to display a menu, and select Move Document to launch the Move Document Wizard, which will step you through the process of moving a document from one profile to another. If the Advanced button is not present, click on the expand  icon.
