Contract Events Overview

The Events feature is available from both the Contract Profile and the Company Profile. A contract event is a key date in the life of a contract, such as the date on which a contract is set to renew or expire. An event can be created for a single occurrence, or an event series can be set up for an event that is repeated on a regular basis (i.e., weekly, monthly, or yearly).

Once you create an event, the Novatus system automatically sends an email message (i.e., event alert) to all the recipients you designate. The message is sent prior to the event date, and you determine the number of days prior to the event date that the message will be sent. If you choose to set up a reminder for the event, which is simply a follow-up email reminding recipients about the upcoming event, you can set the date the reminder email is sent out and also select the individuals who receive the follow-up email message about the event.

The Novatus system will automatically generate weekly (or daily) Event Notification Reports and email the reports to the event owner, as well as those users who subscribe to the event. These reports are designed to help event owners in identifying the events that need to be completed or closed.
