Section Formatting icon

From the Data view, click on the image311.png icon to display the Section Formatting window.

You can also click on the Settings link in the Sections panel, or you can mouse over the field in the Sections panel until the image315.png icon displays, and then click on the icon.

Report Fields list box

Locate the section field that you want to format, click on it to select it, and then drag-and-drop it into the canvas. The categories and fields that can be used to format the section display in the canvas, and the Display category is expanded.

Summary category

Click the expand icon image227.png to display the options for providing a summary total for one of the fields in a report section.

Section Summary list

If the report contains more than one section, select the section that best supports a summary total for one of the fields in the section. Example: Contract Number is selected instead of Company Name because there is more than one contract for the company in the report.

Section Total option

If you want to display a total in the body of the report, ensure the option is active. The image228.png toggle icon indicates the option is active while the image254.png icon indicates the option is inactive.

Show Labels option

If you want the summary total to include a label, ensure the option is active.

Label Contents radio buttons

Select the appropriate radio button based on how much information you want displayed in the label for the summary total: Total & Field Name, Total, or Field Name.

Grand Totals

If you want to display a grand total for all the section totals at the end of the report, ensure the option is active.

Close & Apply icon

Click on the image186.png icon to close the window and apply the formatting to the summary for the section.
