Chart Settings

Chart settings involve the size and position of the chart in the Output view, where the full report is displayed.

The formatting options below all deal with a Bar chart since this is one of the most common types of charts used. Based on the type of chart you are using, the formatting options for chart settings may differ.

Open the Analytics Report whose chart settings you want to format, and follow the steps below.

1

Charts tab

Click to display the Charts view.

You can also display this view when opening an existing report by selecting the Edit tab, and then selecting Charts in the menu.

2

Chart Settings icon

Click on the image348.png icon to display the Chart Settings window.

3

Width field

Enter the width of the chart (in pixels) to resize its display in the Output (full report) view. If you leave the field blank, the program will auto-format the chart width.

For bar charts, the recommended ratio of width to height is 2:1.

4

Height field

Enter the height of the chart (in pixels) to resize its display in the Output (full report) view. If you leave the field blank, the program will auto-format the chart height.

Once you set the width and height of the chart, click the Output tab to view the display, and then adjust the values, as needed.

5

Chart Position list

If you want to change the default position of the chart (i.e., Top) in the full report (Output view), make another selection in the list. The chart can be displayed at the Bottom of the report, to the Left of report data, or to the Right of report data.

6

Horizontal Alignment list

If you want to change the default alignment of the chart in relation to the report data, change the selection from Left to Right.

7

Close & Apply icon

Click on the image332.png icon to apply the size and position settings to the chart in both the Charts view and the Output (full report) view, and close the Chart Settings window.
