Managing Integration Settings for DocuSign

There are three integration settings in Novatus, which work in conjunction with the DocuSign (or EchoSign) application to obtain electronic signatures (eSignatures) on a contract document. One setting for eSignatures allows Administrators to compel users to use pre-defined templates when running the eSignature Package Wizard to create the "envelope" (email message containing the contract that is sent to the signatories for eSignature). The second integration setting ensures that the eSignature packages created when the eSignature Package Wizard is run are automatically "completed" by the Novatus system after all the electronic signatures are obtained. The third integration setting allows Administrators to select the default document type for the final contract after all signatories have signed the document electronically.

Navigation Toolbar

Click on Admin to display a menu, and select System Settings to display the System Settings screen.

Note: If the System Settings link is not present, you do not have permission to change the system settings in Novatus Contracts.

Integration Settings tab

Click on the tab to display the Integration Settings browse screen. This screen provides access to all the applications that are currently integrated with your Novatus system.

eSignature Settings tab

Ensure the default (eSignature Settings) tab is selected and the eSignature Settings screen is displayed.

Note: If your Novatus system is not integrated with Salesforce or BidSync, there will be no other tabs in this screen.

Use Templates Only check box

Select if you want to compel users to use a template to identify the signatories (and any recipients) for a contract when running the eSignature Package Wizard. Selecting this option restricts users to selecting signatories and recipients whose email addresses are listed in the Novatus Address Book.

Allow Advanced Templates and Actions check box

Select if you want to give users access to the advanced features offered by DocuSign when running the eSignature Package Wizard, which include additional signer actions and tags.

Automatically Complete eSignature Packages check box

Select if you want the Novatus system to automatically "complete" the document packages that are created when the eSignature Package Wizard is run, and the contract documents have been electronically signed by all the signatories.

Note: When this check box is selected, the Default Document Type for Signed Documents list displays.

Default Document Type for Signed Documents list

Select the document type you want to be automatically assigned to the signed contract document. The format of the signed document will always be a PDF file.

Suppress Novatus eSignature Complete Email check box

Select if you want to stop the emails that emanate from Novatus Contracts after the eSignature process is complete, and the document package is closed.

Close eSignature Package When Declined check box

Select if you want Novatus Contracts to automatically:

  • Move a contract flow to the next step when the eSignature Package Wizard is a step in the flow and any signatory selects the Decline option when requested to provide their electronic signature.
  • Close the Document Package that is created when the eSignature Package Wizard is run, and any signatory selects the Decline option when requested to provide their electronic signature.

Save button

Click to save the DocuSign (or EchoSign) integration settings.
