Inactivating and Reactivating Flow Templates

A contract, company, or project flow template that has been published can be inactivated temporarily if updates need to be made to the template. Inactivating a template prevents Novatus from automatically applying the old flow to new  Contract, Company, or Project Profiles while the template is being updated. Once the updates to the flow template have been completed, the template must be republished and reactivated.

The Inactivate option can also be used to permanently inactivate a published flow template since there is currently no way to delete a published flow template. However, a draft flow template can be deleted.

An inactive flow template still displays in the list of available templates when a user with the Flow Admin permission runs a flow from an existing Profile by selecting the Start Flow button in the toolbar.

Inactivating a Flow Template

Although a contract flow template is used in the screen shot below, the steps are the same for inactivating a company flow template and a project flow template.

1.  Click Admin in the Navigation Toolbar, and click the Contract Flow Templates, Company Flow Templates, or Project Flow Templates link.

2.  In the Published Flow Templates screen for contracts, companies, or projects, locate the active template you want to inactivate, and click on it to select it.

Before inactivating the template, ensure the template is not listed in the Flow Template Drafts section of the screen since this indicates the most current version of the template has not been published. Publish the latest version of the template before inactivating it.

3.  Click Toggle Template Active Status in the toolbar.

4.  In the Activate/Inactivate Template prompt, click Yes.

5.  (Optional) Verify that the template is now appended with the word INACTIVE.
