Editing a Scorecard Component

A scorecard component can be edited in several ways. You can change the name of the scorecard category, edit its description, and re-weight the value of the category. You can also add, edit, re-weight, and delete questions (or statements) in the category.

Navigation Toolbar

Click on Admin to display a menu of your administrator functions.

Scorecards link

Select to display a secondary menu.

Note: If the Scorecards link is not present, you do not have permission to use this feature.

Scorecards menu

Click on the Scorecard Components button to display the Scorecard Components browse screen.

Scorecard Category record

Locate the scorecard category you want to edit, and click on it to display its Scorecard Component Administration screen.

Search option

If you want to quickly locate a scorecard category, enter the category name or other identifier in the Search field and click the icon. To clear the search results, click the icon.

Category Name field

Click in the field and type over the existing text if you want to edit the name of the category.

Note: To avoid creating duplicate category names, use the Search option if there is more than one page of categories listed in the Categories section of the screen.

Category Description field

Click in the field and type over the existing text if you want to edit the description of the category.

Category Default Weight field

Click in the field and type over the existing value if you want to change the weight of the category. The value in this field should equal the sum of the weights of all the questions in the My Questions and Categories section.

Scorecard Answer Profile list

Make a different selection in the list if you want to change the type of answers you want displayed when a user answers a scorecard question.

Note: Answers to scorecard questions (or statements) are defined in a.

New Question button

Click if you want to add another question to the category Scorecard Answer Profile.

Edit icon

Click the icon for a question if you want to edit it. The Scorecard Question dialogue box displays.

Question Text field

Edit the question, as needed, making sure the wording of the question matches the wording of the other questions. For example, if the wording of a question is positively-slated (e.g., Are Customer Service Reps easy to reach?) and the rating system used is between 1 (No) and 5 (Yes), then do not replace the question with a negatively-slated question (e.g., Are Customer Service Reps difficult to reach?) since the evaluation results will be inaccurate.

Question Description

Edit the descriptive information for the question, as needed.

Note: The text in this field displays below the question (in gray text) in any scorecard using this category, and is designed to assist users in answering the question.

Question Weight field

Edit the numerical weight for the question, if needed. The total combined weight of all questions should equal the weight in the Category Default Weight field.

Save button

Click to save your information and edit the question.

Delete icon

Click the icon if you want to delete a question.

Note: If you delete a question and do not replace it, be sure to re-adjust the weighted value of the questions so that they equal the value in the Category Default Weight field.

Categories list

If you want add a category, click on the category and then drag-and-drop it to the My Questions and Categories section. You are successfully moving the category if the message displays.

Important: If you add a category, be sure to make the necessary adjustments so that the total weight of the questions and the category weight in the My Questions and Categories section equals the value in the Category Default Weight field.

My Questions and Categories section

If you want to remove a category, click on its delete icon. You can also remove a category by clicking on it, and then dragging-and-dropping it to the Categories list. You are successfully removing the category if the message displays.

Important: If you remove a category, be sure to make the necessary adjustments so that the total weight of the questions (and any category weights) in the My Questions and Categories section equals the value in the Category Default Weight field.

Save button

Click to save your information and edit the scorecard component(s).
