Editing and Moving Items in a Clause Type List

An item in a Clause Type list can be edited by changing its name or description. A Clause Type list item can also be moved to change its position in the list if the default alphabetical sort order is not the most appropriate ordering for the items in the list.

Navigation Toolbar

Click on Admin to display a menu of your administrator functions, and click on Lists to display the List Administration screen.

Note: If the Lists link is not in your Admin menu, you do not have the permissions to use this feature.

Fields List category

Locate the Clause category by entering "clause" in the Search field, and pressing the Enter key on your keyboard. To clear the search results, click on the icon. The Search option is used to search for field lists, and not list categories.

Note: The items in this category include three lists: Clause Category, Clause Type, and Clause Security.

Clause Type list

Click on the link to display the existing items in the list.

Excel button

Click if the list of clause types is lengthy, and you want to view the list in an Excel spreadsheet. The Excel application launches and displays a spreadsheet with an easy-to-view listing of all clause types.

Name and Description fields

If you want to edit the name or description of a clause type, click inside the Name or Description field to make it editable, and type over the existing text.

Alphabetical check box

If you want to change the default sort order of the list items from alphabetical to an Administrator-defined sort order, deselect the check box.

List Item record

To change the order of an item in the list, click on the list item to select it, and then drag-and-drop it upwards or downwards to a different location in the list. If you are successfully moving a list item, the prompt displays during the move.

Save button

Click to edit, disable, or delete the item selection for the clause type list.
