Editing, Disabling, and Deleting Items in a Location Type List

An item in the company location list can easily be edited to keep up with address changes for its different offices. An address type can also be can be temporarily disabled if it will be needed again in the future, or permanently deleted if a company office has been closed.



Navigation Toolbar

Click on Admin to display a menu of your administrator functions, and click on Lists to display the List Administration screen.

Note: If the Lists link is not in your Admin menu, you do not have the permissions to use this feature.


Fields List category

Locate the Address category by entering "location" in the Search field, and pressing the Enter key on your keyboard. To clear the search results, click on the icon. The Search option is used to search for field lists, and not list categories.

Note: The items in this category include one field list, a link to the location fields that can be made mandatory, and a link to the fields for which a Quick Tip can be added.


Location Type list

Click to display the list of existing location types.

Note: The default sort order for items in a field list is ascending (A-Z), but you can reverse the sort order to descending (Z-A) by clicking on the Name header.


Excel button

Click if the list of selections is lengthy, and you want to view the list in an Excel spreadsheet. The Excel application launches and displays a spreadsheet with an easy-to-view listing of all list items.


Name and Description fields

If you want to edit the name or description of an item, click inside its Name or Description field to make it editable, and type over the existing text.


Disabled check box

If you want to make a location type temporarily unavailable, locate the location type, and click inside its check box.


Delete button

If you want to delete a location type, click on its icon to display a confirmation prompt, and select the Yes option in the prompt.


Save button

Click to edit, disable, or delete the location type list item.
