Configuration Overview

Administrators must configure several of the system features before Novatus is ready for use. Configuration of these features is accomplished from the Admin menu in the Navigation Toolbar, which also contains Security components (Users and Roles) and Global components (Advanced Edit, Global Messaging, System Settings, and Bulk Data Upload Tool).

Navigation Toolbar

Click on Admin to display a menu of your administrative tasks.

Your menu will contain only the linked icons for the administrative tasks you can perform.

Security links

  • Users -  add, disable, and archive users, and edit user information.
  • Roles - create, edit, and delete user roles.

Configuration links

  • Lists - manage all lists in Novatus program screens.
  • Additional Forms - add and edit the forms used to capture additional data for companies, contracts, and projects.
  • Profile Rules - add, edit, and delete the rules that will govern the type and amount of data that is collected in a Company, Contract, or Project Profile using conditions and actions.   See also Profile Rule Formulas Overview.
  • Creation Templates - add, edit, and delete the MS Word templates that are used to generate new contracts in a Contract Profile.
  • Contract Request Types - create, edit, and delete the templates used when a program user makes a contract request.
  • Supplier Registration Types - create, edit, and delete the forms used to register suppliers (and vendors) in the Novatus Portal.
  • Event Alert Templates - create, edit, and delete the email templates that are used in generating system event alerts.
  • Task Lists - create and edit the set of tasks that mirror your company's standard business practices and can be added to a Company, Contract, or Project Profile.
  • Contract Flow Templates - manage the templates that identify the steps that a user must follow to ensure a contract is moved through one or more stages in its life cycle.
  • Company Flow Templates - manage the templates that identify the steps that a user must follow to ensure a company undergoes one of your organization's business practices or procedures.
  • Project Flow Templates - manage the templates that identify the steps that a user must follow to ensure a project follows an intended path.
  • Email Distribution Lists link - create, edit, and delete the email distribution lists for the Messaging feature.

Workflow links

  • Click the Workflows link to display the Workflows menu.
    • Workflow Templates - create, edit, and delete the templates used to add workflows to Company, Contract, and Project Profiles.
    • Routing Tables - add, edit, and delete the people (or job functions) that can approve a step in a workflow.
    • Workflow Teams - add, edit, and delete the teams of people that can be assigned to workflows.

Scorecard links

  • Click the Scorecards link to display the Scorecards menu.
