A visual analysis extracts the data stored in Conga Contracts (formerly Novatus) to communicate patterns and trends using data tables and charts. A visual analysis can also identify the relationship between two data fields, as well as patterns in a single data field over time or in relation to a value. The chart portion of a visual analysis can reveal additional information by using the Drill option, which redisplays the chart when related fields are selected for analysis. When more than two fields are needed to analyze information, a cross-tabulation chart or table can be created to highlight the interaction of data. The fields in a visual analysis can be be exported for review, editing, and printing as a CSV (Comma Separated Value) file.
A visual analysis is the building block used to create both an Analytics Report and a BI Dashboard. An Analytics Report can be shared with other users and scheduled for distribution. A BI Dashboard can be shared with other users and is available from the Conga Contracts (formerly Novatus) Dashboard using the BI Toolbox portlet.
A visual analysis lends itself well to creating a Dashboard due to the flexibility and variety of charts offered, while an analysis lends itself well to creating an Analytics Report since it generates spreadsheet-based data.
