Editing, Disabling, and Deleting Items in a Tree Field

This page applies to: Conga Contracts

A user with the List Admin permission can edit a tree field by making changes to a category name and/or any of the list items in the category.  A tree field can also be edited by adding new categories and list items.  An entire category, as well as individual list items in the category, can be temporarily disabled if they will be needed again in the future, or permanently deleted if they will never be used again.

1.  Click Admin in the Navigation Toolbar, and click the Lists links.

2.  In the List Administration screen, locate the tree field by typing its name (or the first few letters of its name) into the Search field, and pressing the ENTER key on your keyboard.

3.  Click the tree field in the Fields List section to select it and display any existing items for the field in the right side of the screen.

  • Click Icon Expand Hier.png to expand a category and display the list items.

4.  Edit a category name by clicking its icon to enable the field, and typing over the existing text.

  • Edit a list item for a category by clicking the Icon Expand Hier.png icon for the category, clicking the list item's icon to enable the field, and typing over the existing text.

5.  Add a list item for a category by right-clicking on the icon for the category, and selecting Add in the Add/Delete menu In the New Item record, click to enable the field, and enter the name of the list item for the category.

  • To add a sub-item to a list item, right-click on its icon, and select Add in the Add/Delete menu.

6.  Disable a linked list item by selecting its Disabled check box.

While a category and its list items must be disabled individually, deleting a category will automatically delete all of its list items.

7.  Delete an individual list item in a category:

  • Click Icon Expand Hier.png to expand the category.
  • Right-click the list item's icon to display an Add/Delete menu, and select Delete
  • In the confirmation prompt, click Yes.

8.  Delete a category, which will delete all its list items:

  • Right-click the category's icon to display an Add/Delete menu, and select Delete
  • In the confirmation prompt, click Yes.

9.  Click Save.
