Native Word Field Types

You can create a native Word® field using two methods:

  • Create a native Word field by inserting a field and choosing the relevant type.
To add a native field, on the Insert tab in Word, click Quick Parts > Field.

  • Create a text-based field with the @ prefix.

Conga Composer® Release 8 uses text-based merge fields (e.g. {{Field_Name}} ), so when using native Word field types you will need to include the at sign (@) at the beginning of the field name. This indicates to Conga Composer (from within a text-based merge field) that you want a native Word field rather than the usual merge field.

{{@Title}} à results in a native Word “Title” field

{{Title}} à results in a merge field called “Title” (this is the field name displayed in Template Builder)

Below is the list of supported native Word fields. Each requires the at sign (@) at the beginning of the text-based merge field (e.g. {{@ASK}} )
